We See the Milestones Backward Run…

To put is succinctly, 2013 has been an OUTSTANDING year for the Tau Sigma chapter of Beta Theta Pi.

Highlights include:

  • 2013 saw the year starting as a fully chartered chapter of Beta Theta Pi.
  • At the Beta Keystone Leadership Conference, the chapter brought home the award for Excellence in Leadership Development – beating out 29 chapters from the North Central Region.
  • The Fall 2013 pledge class welcomed 30 new members.
  • The Spring and Fall recruiting classes resulted in a house that is at nearly full capacity. Standing at 64 members, this has helped to improve the financial position of the chapter AND has given a lift to future recruitment efforts.
  • We are now “classified” as a Large Fraternity for Greek Week 2014.
  • Jake Swanson was not only president of the ISU College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, but was also selected as Homecoming King 2013.
  • Homecoming was a real success for the chapter who paired with the Pikes and Sigma Kappa’s, finishing 3rd overall after placing 1st in tournaments 2nd in community service and 3rd in victory lane. The chapter even won the Best Sportsmanship award!
  • The chapter G.P.A. significantly increased in the Spring of 2013 with the actives posting a 3.06 and the overall house average being a 2.84.
  • Jon Miles was elected to serve as the 2014 Iowa State University Interfraternity Council (IFC) Vice President of Council Operations.
  • The TSAA launch a new website for alumni: tausigmaalumni.com

As 2013 draws to a close, all of us can confidently look forward to seeing the continued growth of the chapter and development of the men who call 2120 Lincoln Way home!
