Recap: Tau Sigma Attends the 175th General Convention

October 5, 2014 | Written by Kevin Friedman

More than 50 total Tau Sigs attended the 175th General Convention in Oxford, Ohio, making Iowa State the largest group at Convention! The undergraduates took advantage of Leadership College and the alumni enjoyed the sights and tours of Miami University.

The highlight for Iowa State was the active chapter holding an initiation ceremony for 16 new initiates in the early hours of August 8th, 175 years to the day after the founding of our Good and Great Fraternity.

“‘... on the evening of the eighth day of the eighth month of the year 1839...’ While we were at the 175th convention and anniversary of our great and good fraternity this past weekend, we had the amazing opportunity to initiate 16 new members. The initiation took place within the Hall of Chapters at the Administrative Office in Oxford, Ohio on the exact day our fraternity was founded 175 years ago.”
